“When they heard that the Lord was concerned about them, and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.” (Exodus 4:31)
Every time God makes a promise, the devil makes a plan. And when the enemy presses in, it’s tempting to grab for ourselves, gripe at God, and grind our gears in our own strength trying to work things out by own means. Lord help us to remember in the darkness what You have told us in the light …..
Most everyone, it seems, is walking through a storm right now. If that describes you, may I ask you a question? Amidst your current struggle, do you sense God’s nearness? Or does is feel like He’s forgotten about you? Are you starting to wonder if He is with you? Do you actually believe He treasures you even though He’s not giving you what you want at the moment?
Well, let me encourage you. He does! The One who set the stars in place –Almighty God — has set His affection upon you …..
Sure, it’s hard to wait, and walk, and worship in the ‘not yet’ season. It’s difficult to trust and walk by faith in spite of our feelings. And yet, this is the time to remember that God still hears us and moves on our prayers. If we will trust and obey Him right here in this season, in the storms and struggles; we will watch and see how He turns the table on the enemy of our soul. We’ll marvel at how He leverages our hardships to actually work in our favor. And, we’ll rejoice over the way He makes all things beautiful in their proper time …..
We’ve got to settle it in our hearts though that God is good, His promises are true, and He will always make a way for us. Then, we can trust His timing and we are able to rest, we can worship while we wait …..
Do you remember the story of when David ended up in the same cave with a raging, jealous king? (1 Samuel 24). Clearly the Lord had delivered Saul into his hands, right? David was a God-fearing man and even though deliverance seemed to be at his fingertips, he would not take it until the Lord gave it. He waited ….
And this is the very same David that penned one of my favorite Psalms ~ “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1)
Notice the key words here: “at all times” and “continually.” That means even in the midst of trials, sorrows, struggles, pain, storms; at ALL TIMES ……
Are you in that place right now? This is what the Lord would say to you: “My beloved one, I’ve got you! That dream in your heart? I put it there! Trust Me in this, and see if I won’t establish you beyond your wildest dreams. I intend to do a mighty work through you. But first, I must do a mighty work in you. Humble yourself before Me. Refuse jealousy or a competitive spirit. Embrace Me, embrace My timing, and I will establish you at the proper time. I promise ….
“I will praise you Lord, with all of my heart; before the gods I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame. When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me.” ( Psalm 138:1-3).
Trust in the Lord. It’s impossible for Him to fail you! Ask yourselves: “how does God want me to stand in battle while I wait on my breakthrough?” Worship. Yes, He desires you to worship Him while you wait for your breakthrough. Turn a deaf ear to the enemy’s threats. Worship God because He’s always good, even when we can’t see what He is up to. Humble yourselves, and in due time, He will surely exalt you and bring your breakthrough ….
In conclusion, I would ask, what are you white knuckling right now? What do you have gripped tightly in your hand? Can you find your way to let go and offer it up to God so that your hands are free to praise Him today with all your heart?
My beloveds, to truly walk in places that are far beyond your qualifications, to make an impact that is bigger than you are, you need Jesus. You need to remember that it’s in HIS hands to make great. And He truly wants to do great things through you ….
These battles you face? God will use them too, each and every one to grow greatness in you! You need the Holy Ghost. It is through this power; which comes once you receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, which is evidenced by the speaking in that heavenly language; that we are filled with power (Acts 1:8), and this power equips us and enables us to wage war and adequately battle our enemy …
Embrace your identity in Him: “more than conquerors.” Obey Him fully. Humble yourself before Him. Trust His timing. Tune out the enemy and face down your fears. Rise up in your faith and stand on His promises so when it’s all said and done, you will stand in the place God has for you ….
“I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:16-21).
Let us pray ~
Father in heaven, I’m starting to learn that often You are making me wait because You’re making me ready. Thank You for taking Your time with me. I thank You because You are a protective, loving, invested Father, and You know what’s best for me. Awaken fresh bold faith in me, and help me to trust You more as I grow. I will declare with my whole heart that I trust You and my soul waits for You, my Lord. I will praise You at all times and worship You while I wait. In Jesus name I pray, Amen ….
