“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Sometimes, we may not believe this is true. Troubles swirl around us, pressures feel too great, life seems hard. We might even feel like God has forgotten us and left us facing the struggles all alone …..
Yet, in the background of this great verse, we’re reminded that God spoke these words to His people, not when times were easy, but when times were very hard. They would endure 70 years of captivity, they would experience great suffering. And it’s right there, in the midst of all that, that we can see the hope of God shine through.
He didn’t leave His people in the tough trials. He won’t leave us there either. He walks us through, reminding us that His plans are for good, for a future, and for a hope. He is right with us, and breathes confidence and peace, that we will press through the struggle, and come out to the other side, stronger, and more faith-filled. He assures us that He will never waste the pain of what we experience in this life, but will actually bring greater good and blessing because of it …..
If you find yourself facing hard times today, or maybe you’ve just walked through a difficult year, or you’re simply dreading facing this day; this verse is your reminder — there’s hope ahead. Be confident of this — God’s not finished yet. You’re still here, you’re gaining strength and perseverance through the trials. He has good in store, great purpose in all that we walk through, no matter how hard it may be. You are not alone ….
He sees the big picture of our lives, and He’s aware of every little detail too. He knows what He’s doing, even when we can’t see it all yet. He often works behind the scenes that unfold our every day, in those places where we may not always understand His plans. Even through all our seasons of waiting — He’s still there …..
Therefore, we can trust that He has our best in mind. He’s got our back. He’s with us right now. And He’s secured our future too. You can rest in that truth today. There’s peace in knowing we don’t have to try hard to control it all. We can let go of the need to try to figure it all out, or the striving of trying to make things happen and work out according to how we think they should ….
Thus saith the Lord: “Lean not on your own understanding, but trust Me. In all your ways acknowledge Me, and I will direct your path” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”(Romans 12:12)
Have the trials you’ve been walking through or the problems you’ve faced caused you to lose some hope? Bring it all before God today. Let go of the need to have it all make sense right now. It doesn’t have to make sense to trust Him. This is faith in action, of which He shall reward. Look to Him. Ask for His fresh filling and renewal. Be reminded of His truth, that He will use it all for good somehow (Romans 8:28), and has a great future and hope still in store for you …..
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4)
God knows, He understands, and we’re never alone. Keep pressing through. He loves you. He cares. He is with you. Be still, in Jesus name and be at peace …..
I care too, and I will pray for you. I am faithful, and I know the power in prayer. Message me if you would like prayers. God bless you ….
Let’s pray ~
Father God, how wonderful to know that You have provided all that is necessary to live a godly life in Christ Jesus. How beautifully we can rest knowing that Your grace truly is sufficient to supply whatever needs or necessities we will ever require to face any trials or difficulties. We thank You that no matter how difficult the circumstances that arise in our lives, nor how lonely the path may seem; Your grace is always sufficient enough to carry us through because Your strength is made perfect in our weakness.
I pray thay You would meet all of the needs that I need to face today, and that You would renew my spirit within me as I rest in Your love. I pray You cover all my readers with Your wings that they may find rest in Your shadow. That we all may be strengthened in every way — physically, emotionally, and especially spiritually. Thank You Father for You wonderful promise that those who wait upon You will have their spirit renewed. We thank You Lord that You have promised that no weapon ever formed will prosper against us, and that Your angels are watching over us and guarding us. Lord God, we just thank You and praise Your Holy name today for all these promises in which we can restfully assured that You will never leave us nor forsake us, despite how we feel. You are worthy and all honor and glory are Yours. We ask and pray this in Jesus mighty name, Amen …..
