“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord.”
(1 Corinthians 15:58)
In these last days there will be difficult and perilous times. Just as the world hated and rejected Jesus, we can expect ever increasing opposition and rejection. Until the coming of Christ to rapture the redeemed from this evil world, there will be continual decline in morality and spirituality. People will become more and more self-centered, and less interested in the needs of one another. This is no pretty picture for the future. What then are we as Christians to do as we face these most difficult days?
We are to stand firm in our commitment to the Lord Jesus. Our steadfastness is not in the strength of human flesh, but in the indwelling presence, and power of the Holy Ghost. Having been redeemed by the blood of God’s only Son, Jesus Christ; we must continue to abide in Him through the good and bad times. If we remain faithful only when things are easy and smooth, and buckle under the pressure placed upon us by the difficult circumstances, we ruin our witness to a world that is watching. There is no greater opportunity for having an influence on others than to abide in Christ, remaining steadfast in times of adversity and trial ….
We are to remain “unmovable”, meaning that nothing can move us away from our true commitment to Christ. We can stand against the devil and all demons of hell, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Never once, do we have to cower down and give in. Just as Jesus remained steadfast until the end, we too must follow His example ….
Today, weary servant, lift up your heart and hands. God has big plans for those who are willing to listen and let Him lead. Be ready to remain faithful in serving Him throughout various kinds of difficulties and challenges. Ask Him to open doors whereby you have opportunities to share His love and forgiveness to others. Trust Him to empower and enable you to do His work in the power of His Spirit and remain steadfast and firm ….
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
Having done all ….. Stand!
Stand “steadfast and unmovable!”
That means you do not move to the left, you do not move to the right; you stand solidly rooted and grounded in the Word “that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love” (Ephesians 3:17).
Stand “rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:7).
“When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.”
When the enemy threatens to bear down upon us all without control, then the Holy Ghost shall stop him, and put him to flight. Jesus Christ whom has delivered, will still deliver. A far more glorious salvation is promised that we may have hope. Jesus shall come to us to be our Redeemer, and as promised He has come to be our Sanctifier: thus the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost has been given us and shall abide with us forever, (John 14:16). By His power we shall overcome ….
Therefore, Stand Firm ~ Stand Strong ~ Stand ~
Father; we thank You that You have set watchmen on the walls of Your church to help to restore and rebuild the lives of many believers, whose hope in You seems to be weak and crumbling due to this wicked and evil generation in which we live. Help us in the power of Your Spirit and empower us by the power of the Holy Ghost to restore lives back to a focus on You and to encourage their hearts with the gospel of grace and truth, which is contained in the unchangeable Word of God. Thank You that Your Word is life and health and hope to all who feed on it in their hearts by faith, with thanksgiving.
Help me I pray to be an effective and efficient watchman on Your wall and I pray that I may be faithful to carry out the work of interceding for so many members of the Body of Christ, who are finding life in this world so hard to endure. May I be faithful and diligent to lift up in prayer family and friends, and those in Your body that are struggling with their faith in You. Give me the wisdom on who You would have me to pray for that You are calling. Protect and help all of our Christian brothers and sisters who are facing severe and bitter persecution in so many countries of the world.
Comfort and encourage them in whatever situation they may find themselves and may each one be mightily used by You as a good and faithful witness of the saving blood of Jesus, in Whose name I pray, Amen …..
God is with us …
