What a Mighty Saviour we serve…
He will never let Satan have more power over you than you allow ….
Satan is defined as a “roaring lion” (1 Peter 5:8),
but in essence, he is also like a barking, growling dog on the end of a chain. Sure he will bark, growl, and snap at you every now and again; kicking up dust around you, but you never have to fear if you know the Master who has hold of his chain ….
Satan is already so defeated that he doesn’t even possess the keys to his own house. He’s just a pitiful homeless entity which is why “he walketh about seeking whom he may devour” really. After Jesus’ death on the cross, He took the keys to death, hell, and the grave (Revelation 1:18), so we could not be unwillingly held captive anymore. Notice the word “unwillingly” …. Satan cannot defeat you if you willingly “choose” to follow Christ and obey His Word, which one of the prime instructions is “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)
The only problem is now the devil’s looking for a place to live while he’s walking around on this earth. Some have showed him around in the ‘open house’ tour, then some have even let him in to be a roommate and share their rent. And sadly, he even lives rent-free in may of our own heads. But it’s time for all of us to serve him with an eviction notice …. Today!
Satan has no place amongst us when we have been adopted as heirs to the throne of a living God (Romans 8:17). We must help him find his rightful place; which is under our feet!!!
This is a spiritual war, not a carnal one (Ephesians 6:12), and we cannot be the bride of Christ and the girlfriend of Satan at the same time (Matthew 6:24).
The Bible says “NO sin shall enter into heaven” (1 Corinthians 6:9) (Revelation 21:27); therefore, we need not think we can wait till Dad’s asleep and sneak Satan through our window.
We can only be faithful to one Master, it has come time to make a decision ….
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve ….. but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15)
