Food … water … shelter … clothing … and of course love. These are the core elements of our existence. Without these, we cannot survive for very long ….
It is vital for us to keep these basic necessities as a priority in our lives, however all of these necessities come from our loving Father; so it just makes sense that He should come FIRST and foremost, above everything else. This is paramount that we learn this truth early in our journey with the Father that our faith may be strong ….
Most of us work so hard so that we can provide these things for ourselves and our families, but we will labor in vain when we do not allow our heavenly Father to provide, rather than trying to do it ourselves all on our own, by our own power. Jesus has assured us that without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5), just as a branch torn from a tree will wither and die without the life giving nutrients that the tree provides. The same is true of a limb from a body; once detatched, it will die immediately without the body ….
It is quite simple, yet, we have made it complicated in this world. Some people struggle on a daily basis to find the food, shelter and water they need to survive. Some people struggle daily to keep up with their elaborate and somewhat ridiculously lavish lifestyle. Sadly, this world is out of balance … confused … and seemingly lost. The desire to help others has become less of a priority to this world, because the selfish desires have overtaken the love of others. Why is this? As we reflect back to the core elements of our existence, we must return to the necessity of love. We all need love …. Jesus is love. So shouldn’t Jesus be the priority in our existence? Sadly ….. the world sometimes forgets that Jesus is the bread of life. God gave us His only Son Jesus … so that we could have ALL that we ever need. Life and life more abundantly. If we can make Jesus the priority in our lives, and surrender our lives to Him … God will pour down His blessings to us. When we focus our attention to God alone … accepting the gift of His Son Jesus … we can be assured that we will never be left alone, nor shall we ever lack any good thing (Psalm 34:10). God promises us He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).
Trust in God and surrender your life to Jesus today …. don’t wait for tomorrow. Tomorrow may never come for some, and He is returning soon …. If you realign yourself and your priorities to place Him FIRST, then you will begin seeing the evidence of God’s love … one day at a time…every single day. God says, “Prove Me now herewith if I will not open unto you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” (Malachi 3:10).
“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this; thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”
Jesus said unto them, “Verily I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then they said unto Him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
“But my God shall supply ALL your need according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ.” (Phillipians 4:19)
God is with us …..
